Office chair covers are sized by the backrest, because that is the part that varies most between models. Two measurements are enough.

How to measure

Backrest height. Measure from the seat to the top of the backrest. This decides your size.

Backrest width. Measure across the widest point.

Seat width and depth. Measure the seat pad.

Check the headrest. A separate headrest often needs its own cover, or a size up.
A note on units. Measure your furniture in inches, then use the table above to find the size to select. Our size selector shows centimetres, because that is how covers are manufactured, so the table gives you both.
Common measuring mistakes
- Measuring the total chair height from the floor. Gas lifts move; measure from the seat.
- Forgetting a separate headrest, which usually needs its own cover.
- Choosing a one-piece cover for a chair that tilts.
Chairs with armrests
Most office chair covers are made in two parts, one for the backrest and one for the seat, which leaves the armrests and the mechanism free. That is what makes them work on a chair that tilts and swivels.
Mesh backs
A cover over a mesh back reduces airflow. If you sit for long stretches, cover the seat only and leave the mesh exposed.

Frequently asked questions
Will a cover stop my chair from reclining?
No, provided you choose a two-part cover. A single-piece cover stretched over the whole chair can restrict the tilt.
Will it fit a gaming chair?
Often yes, on the seat. Gaming chairs have tall backs with pronounced side bolsters, so measure the backrest height carefully and select Large.
Does it help with a worn seat?
Yes. A cover is the usual alternative to reupholstering a chair whose mechanism still works perfectly.
